Spain | Madrid

📌 About the Role

At El Confidencial, a leading digital journalism outlet in Spain, we are looking for a Growth & Acquisition Manager with experience in digital subscription models. The person who joins will be key to scaling our number of subscribers, optimizing user acquisition and activation without compromising profitability or early retention.

If you are passionate about data, enjoy designing experiments, and know how to allocate budget wisely to maximize results, this could be your next challenge.

🎯 Main Mission

Grow El Confidencial's subscriber base by designing and executing acquisition strategies that combine creativity, analytical rigor, and business vision.

🛠 Main Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and optimize acquisition campaigns across multiple channels (paid social, search, display, affiliates, partnerships).
  • Manage budgets based on marginal efficiency, prioritizing investment according to incremental CPA and payback.
  • Implement rapid testing frameworks (2–4 tests/week) for landings, messages, creatives, and audiences.
  • Collaborate with Product and Content to co-create minimal experiences that improve conversion (CVR).
  • Develop pragmatic attribution models (GA4, geo-holdout, matched market tests).
  • Monitor and optimize the visit → registration → payment funnel.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, consent mode, and brand safety.

✅ Must Have

  • Experience in growth/performance marketing in subscriptions or recurring models.
  • Proficiency in GA4, GTM, Ads platforms, server-side tracking, basic Looker/BigQuery.
  • Ability to design and analyze A/B and multivariate experiments.
  • Data-driven mindset with clear storytelling to communicate results.
  • Experience managing relevant performance budgets.

⭐ Nice to Have

  • Background in e-commerce, SaaS, or digital subscriptions.
  • Experience in apps (MMP, in-app events, deep linking).
  • Knowledge of creative frameworks (AIDA, PAS, UGC).
  • Familiarity with digital privacy and compliance in European media.
  • Startup profile: hands-on, creative, but data-driven.
